The metal skid plate is new and custom-designed for VW Lupo, compatible with all versions manufactured between 1999 and 2005. It protects the underside of the vehicle and sensitive components against impacts, stones, mud, dirt and road irregularities. The skid plate protects the following components: engine, gearbox. Includes an opening for oil changes, so the skid plate does not need to be removed during maintenance. The skid plate is made from steel sheet with a thickness of 2 mm. Includes screws, spacers and all accessories required for installation. All skid plates are powder coated for corrosion protection, providing greater resistance and durability. The skid plates feature welded reinforcements to improve resistance against external impacts. |

Steel sump guard for VW Lupo
The steel product feels a little thinner than I would have expected - hope it is going to be strong enough to protect the sump on rallies. It would have been nice to have an alloy (4mm dural?) option, but my question on that availability was ignored. Incredibly quick delivery (7 days) considering where the sumpguard came from. The sumpguard needed a little adaption as it is designed for a petrol engined car, while my diesel has a slightly wider/deeper sump. Not a major problem.
