Mitsubishi L200 engine and gearbox guards. PROs: Quick and easy to order and very solid piece of kit, good value, no mudcatching branding cutouts like many. Most parts lined up and fitted ok, heavy so trickier to fit and remove for servicing than the original but the extra protection worth it if you need it. CONS: Had to cut the front bumper down to make it fit, doesn't seem to cover the lower wishbone bushes like the original did, heavy enough to slightly drop the ride height.

Land cruiser J100 front guard section fitted OK, ish. Some holes need elongating, and the captive nut inserts in the chassis were a bit dodgy. On the rear guard nothing lined up, holes in the wrong place, ended up fabricating my own mounts. I was so pissed of I couldn't be arsed to leave a review, until they emailed me asking for one. The Rav4 sump guard fitted OK but had to strengthen the front mounting points in the towing eyes as they failed very early on. Once again the captive inserts in the chassis were crap, and difficult to install. Instructions... Hmm, to put it politely; Calling them a chocolate teapot would be a compliment, they were useless. Frankly overall, the guards did the job. But for the price I should of just got sheet metal and made them myself from SS304. Live and learn I guess. I was also one of those that didn't realise VAT wasn't included, buyers beware, but I guess that was my fault.

Wasn’t told that I had to pay additional charges to fedex. Also the diagram sent with product was as much use as chocolate teapot they were vague very vague. Also one of the rear bolts was to small.

Steel sump guard for Hyundai Santa Fe

VAT & Import duty needs to be paid when ordering into the UK. Arrived promptly. Solidly built, and much more protection that the OEM fibreglass/plastic original. However, the fitting holes do not match my 2018 Santa Fe, despite ensuring the Make, Model and VIN of my car being given to confirm the part fitted. Perhaps the wrong part has been sent out? Have contacted info@sump-guard.co.uk for information regarding how to return this and/or exchange for the correct fitting part. I have no use for the current part and do not feel I should need to redrill the part (if that is even possible) to make fitting possible. Will update review when I have a response. Issues do arise, but it's how they're dealt with that is important.

Very prompt delivery. Fitted straight on to an X Trail T30 only mod was to a piece of plastic on Nissans underside two minute job. All fitted up in 30 mins although did have access to a ramp which makes the job easier. Very good quality and price I was pleasantly surprised.

Great concept, especially in Australia where half the roads are unsealed and the ruts have large rocks that can kill a sump or smash a gear box, this thing has been a life saver. I wish that it came with instructions rather than just one diagram showing an approximation of where it should roughly go and what parts of the (car) body to use. One of the holes did not line up causing alignment issues on installation. Got a bit beat up and damaged on it's journey getting here. But the finish and quality is great. Am considering another for the wife's car as well. Easy company to deal with, very professional.

Has lasted so far with going up dodgy tracks and farm fields hit it multiple times off the ground, no damage to plate itself and more importantly no damage to sump or other components . The overall product is good and well designed. However, there were a couple of areas that could be improved. The product itself was for a Peugeot Partner. Unfortunately, the small 'L' shaped brackets which fix it onto the sub frame had the holes in the wrong place and these had to be re-drilled to make them fit. I did try and seek guidance from the company but no one got back to me. My first order wasn't delivered but when I phoned up to find out where it had gone, it was dealt with quickly and a replacement order was despatched, which did arrive.

Very pleased indeed with the steel sump guard which I fitted to my Volvo XC70. It's a very well-designed item that adds useful protection to the underside of the car. The mountings make fitting it very easy. If you're likely to take your vehicle anywhere where the sump might be at risk of damage, this is a 'must have' accessory. Highly recommended.

Bought and fitted one for my lowered Vauxhall Astra G a few months ago, has taken a few significant impacts and seems to be very strong and resilient. Nice to have the peace of mind that it's not my sump taking the impact. Would be cool to have easier access to the oil drain, as I'm not looking forward to my next service, but it's well worth having the protection under my sump so it's a small price to pay
